Boat

My boat is a 2009 24’ Skeeter Bay Boat pictured above. The ZX 24 V is a fishing machine! The boat is equipped with a Humminbird 1197c fishfinder with GPS at the helm. In addition to the exceptional 10.4” display that fish just can’t hide from, the unit features both Down Imaging and Side Imaging sonar that clearly shows the lake’s structure and underwater environment. The bow of the boat is fitted with a Humminbird 383c fishfinder to keep us on the fish while using the Minn Kota 101 pound thrust trolling motor that will allows us to slide right up to the fish and stay on them without scaring them away. Even in shallow water, it won’t spook the fish. The boat is also outfitted with a special shallow water anchor called a PowerPole which will anchor the boat in water less than 8’ quickly and quietly. The boat has a Yamaha 300 hp 4-stroke engine for dependability and power to get us where we need to be to catch fish.

The boat has seating for six persons and a small amount of semi-dry storage onboard for cameras, keys and such. I suggest bringing a few zip-lock baggies to help keep important things from getting wet.

I provide top quality fishing rods, reels, and lures. If you have a favorite rod and reel or lure, feel free to bring it. My rods and reels are made by top manufacturers and are in excellent condition and ready to fish. I have baitcasting reels, spinning reels, and spincast reels available for children and adults. I also have a wide variety of proven lures available that I have personally chosen for their ability to catch fish. These lures are made to exacting standards and are the finest that can be found anywhere in the world. I go right to the manufacturers to ensure that every detail is correct and that they are consistently made from one lure to the next.

All persons that are going to fish must have in their possession a current Texas fishing license. There are two exceptions: children 16 and younger are not required to have a fishing license and adults born before September 1, 1930 are not required to have a fishing license.

You should bring onboard with you a small cooler with ice and drinks (no alcohol), and snacks for you and your family/friends. Some other things that you may want to have also are: a small towel to wipe your hands and face, a hat, sunglasses and some sunscreen, and depending on the time of the year, it will be very important to bring appropriate clothing for the variable weather conditions that we encounter on the water. The cooler will be important to keep your fillets cold until you get home. I have sunscreen onboard in case you forget yours.

I have plenty of U. S. Coast Guard approved lifevests onboard for both adults and children. Adults may choose to wear or not wear a lifevest. All children under 13 years of age must wear a lifevest at all times when on the water. If your child has a lifevest already, feel free to bring it if you prefer. I am regulated by both the U.S. Coast Guard and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and depending on the condition and fit of your lifevest, your child may need to wear one of mine.
